Cast Suggestions for Catching Fire Movie
It’s going to be interesting to see who will be cast in Catching Fire with a few new characters that emerge in the sequel to The Hunger Games.
Moviefone has put together their dream cast. We’d love to know what you think of the suggestions.
Finnick Odair
Physical description: Finnick is described as being handsome, athletic and a great swimmer. He has bronze hair, sea green eyes and a seductive voice.
Personality: Katniss describes him as coming across as being a bit conceited. He seems to be the sexiest man alive type, but someone who is secretly selfless and vulnerable.
Taylor Kitsch: This is an actor that has looks, charisma and acting ability.
Chris Hemsworth: This is a pretty bold suggestion considering that his little brother, Liam is Gale. But moviefone says it could work (and we agree!).
Benjamin Stone: This would be one of the fans’ favorites. The British actor has the swagger and the build.
Johanna Mason
Physical description: Johanna has short brown hair and wide-set brown eyes. She’s in her early 20s.
Personality: She is a bit prickly, but incredibly clever and combative. She’s also very strong and scheming.
Kristen Bell: Apparently she’s already lobbying for the role. She migh tbe blonde and almost 30, but Moviefone say they can see her as the no-nonsense, tough talking Johanna.
Naya Rivera: The ‘Glee’ actress has also said she’d be interested in playing Johanna. Since she’s already pretty good at playing a queen bee, she’d no doubt be good cast as Katniss’ rival.
Zoe Saldana: This actress is quite the warrior as seen in her recent kick-butt performances in ’Colombiana,’ ‘Avatar’ and ‘The Losers.’
Mags
Physical description: Elderly, about 80 years old, with limited mobility and slurred speech
Personality: She volunteered to take the place of Annie Cresta in the 75th Hunger Games. She is an expert weaver and swimmer and most of all, she is self-less.
Eileen Atkins: The 77-year-old English actress always impresses, whether as the regal Eleanor of Aquitane in ‘Robin Hood’ or the craggy old Samaritan in ‘Cold Mountain.’
Cloris Leachman: She’s still spry at 85 and always up for a challenge — she even owned the stage next to the ladies of ‘The Jersey Shore’ at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Betty White: Because she’s awesome, and she’s one of the hardest working actresses in Hollywood, and we know the 89-year-old Emmy winner wouldn’t balk at a supporting role.
Beetee
Physical description: Ashen skin, black hair and ill-fitting glasses
Personality: Beetee is from District 3, known for its expertise in electronics and explosives; he is a whiz with electrical engineering.
Michael Emerson: The former Lost star certainly has an air of intelligence that could easily translate to Beettee’s genius. He has phenomenal actiong abilities that would make him excellent in such a critical supporting role.
Jackie Earle Haley: The ‘Little Children’ Academy Award nominee is a powerful performer, and he would be extremely believable as a man who outsmarted 23 other contestants to claim his Hunger Games victory.
John Hawkes: It would be great to see him reunite with Jennifer Lawrence, his ‘Winter’s Bone’ co-star. Hawkes, while definitely not “nerdy,” could easily play the wiring expert with a plan.
Wiress
Physical description: Like Beetee, she’s got ashen skin and black hair
Personality: Wiress is shy and sometimes indecipherable. The only one that can really understand her is her loyal companion, Beettee. She is however, smarter than she seems.
Jane Adams: if anyone can pull off a painfully shy, emotionally damaged former Games contestant, it’s Adams.
Ally Sheedy: We know the ’80s actress hasn’t been taking as many roles recently, but she instantly came to mind (she played disturbed and fragile to perfection in ‘The Breakfast Club’).
Cynthia Stevenson: Another fabulous supporting actress who pops up in various film and television roles. She might be a bit too naturally chipper, but otherwise she’d be a solid choice.

Finnick: Alex Pettyfer would be my #1 choice. But Benjamin Stone could also be great.
Johanna: Lol? Naya Rivera with short hair? Can’t picture it. The bitchyness, yeah, but that’s it. Maybe Kristen Bell, but neither og these actresses suits Johanna really.
Mags: Atkins and Leachman would be great. Of course Betty White too, but I feel she’s a bit too famous for such a “small” part.
Beetee: Emerson would be fantastic, I didn’t even think of him!
Wiress: I’m not really sure yet. Maybe Rosamund Stephen?
FINNICK: Benjamin Stone is perfect a hundred times over, his ancient would be the icing on the cake for Finnick.
JOHANNA: Well I kinda agree with Charlotte , I can’t really see either of them as johanna, but if it came down to it possibly Naya.
MAGS: Betty White is GREAt of course but if you see her in the movie you first think of her as a funny comidean and this is a much more serious role. So i would maybe go with Ellieen but again not the best options.
BEETEE: I like the options for this one but I would have to go with Jackie.
WIRESS: Out of these options it would have to be Jane Adams she seems perfect for the role.
i think for Finnik it should be Benjiman Stone. The others i am not so sure about them. Try and maybe find different chrachters. Especially Mags, and Wires
i think without a doubt Finnick should be none of those men. It should be Chris Brochu from disney’s lemonade mouth and i don’t know what else. Johanna should definitely be Naya Rivera. I don’t see Mags as one of those people.for beetee Michael Emerson looks like him.for wiress, jane adams looks good.
I see Alexander Pettyfer as Finnick, and I dont really agree with anything herre, although Betty white could do Mags. I love District four, and my thoughts fly to Annie, who I imagine as Zoey Deschanel maybe. Its all a matter of opinio I guess
When I read the book, I instantly of the perfect guy for Finnick….. Kellan Lutz
I think Finnick should be either Armie Hammer or Trevor Donovan. That is who I picture.
