The Catching Fire Trailer Stills and Review

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Movie Trailer

It was the moment fans of The  Hunger Games have been waiting for since it was announced a few weeks back that we would get to see the Catching Fire trailer at this year’s MTV Awards.  And now we’ve finally got a glimpse of The Hunger Games sequel.  It was also the first time we got to see the choices that new director Francis Lawrence has made in the way he’s going to depict the world of Panem as it starts to descend into chaos.

For the most part, the trailer doesn’t disappoint.  It shows the disturbing events in District 11, the rebellion as it start to take spark, with flag burning and mockingjay waving.  It was full of tension and drama, with some disturbing scenes, including the whipping of Gale, Katniss having a gun held to her head and the determination of President Snow to eradicate his enemies. But there were some important omissions. We didn’t get to see any of the tributes, most notably, Finnick Odair and nor did we get to see inside the Arena. However, these are small complaints when held up against how well the world of Panem seems to be realized.

What did you think of the trailer? What were you glad you got to see and what would you have liked to see that wasn’t there?  Let us know in the comments below.  Also check out these 24 stills from the trailer, highlighting each major moment.  We hope you enjoy!

Well I am glad they didn’t show anything about the tributes. For people who haven’t read the books, they don’t realize that Katniss and one of the two other tributes from 12 (Peeta of course) will be participating in the Quarter Quell. I remember reading it and when I came across it I about had a freaking cow!! So if they give that away, they are getting rid of some of the surprise, though it is so easy for people to hear about it these days, or read a synopsis of the movie/book. Other than that, I think it looks great. I was worried about the director being able to capture the growing darkness of the series, which I see has been done fairly well in the trailer at least. I’m still worried about Mockingjay… But I can’t wait until November!!

I Am so happy of francis’s new perspertive and I love the fact that they didn’t put any of the arena nor the games so its stays a suprise for the non readers

Lol, well I’m a non-reader of the books, and am quite anxious to see how it all develops. I may have to break down and read em tho
